With over half of the precinct dedicated to public spaces, including a new community plaza, Sydney Place is well-connected via George Street Light Rail and nearby trains and ferries, offering a fresh, vibrant space for visitors, foodies, innovators, and entrepreneurs alike.
Gonzalez Steel's scope included the procurement, fabrication, and installation of the plaza building and canopy, both featuring high-level architectural finishes. The canopy, with its distinctive design, is supported by steel columns over 20 meters tall and involves complex and specialized steel connections, embodying the master design.
Installation of the massive column and canopy trusses in the busy heart of George Street, Sydney, presented significant challenges. Nonetheless, the successful completion of this project, achieved through meticulous coordination with all relevant stakeholders, makes Gonzalez Steel proud of its accomplishments.
