Crows Nest Station is a key component of the City and Southwest Metro rail system. Located in the center of Crows Nest, it is set to revitalize this previously quiet suburb. The station will feature entrances on both Pacific Highway and Hume Street. Additionally, the design includes plans for a 17-story residential building and a 27-story commercial structure above the station.

Gonzalez Steel was entrusted with the entire structural steel package for the Crows Nest Sydney Metro project, encompassing a broad range of activities. This scope of work included everything from detailing and design coordination to the actual installation of the steel components. A notable aspect of the project was the incorporation of five massive steel trusses, each with an impressive weight of over 110 tons. These trusses are critical to the station's structural integrity and overall design.

In addition to the trusses, the project featured intricate steel vertical nodes, which were embedded in concrete to form a composite structure. This added complexity required precise engineering and installation. Gonzalez Steel was also responsible for the station’s awnings, the structural steel for lift systems and escalator beams, as well as the steel components for the loading dock. The comprehensive nature of this package demonstrates Gonzalez Steel's expertise in managing large-scale, multifaceted projects within the infrastructure sector.
